Animal Control

Animal Control is Administered by the Woodward Police Department in Accordance with City of Woodward Code of Ordinance 55.12.  WPD does hold a State of Iowa Animal Shelter Certificate and has the authority to hold and adopt animals in it's care.

Currently, if an animal is brought to the shelter or is picked up by City Personnel it is held at least 7 days before being adopted out or taken to a no kill shelter.

By Ordinance 55.14 the fees for time spent in our facility are as follows:
$25 plus daily boarding/maintenance fee
$10 per day boarding/maintenance fee.
