Snow Ordinance

Snow Ordinance is in effect any time there is snow falling or on the ground.  Please park off of streets and out of alleys in accordance with City of Woodward Ordinance shown below:

69.12 SNOW REMOVAL.

No person shall park, abandon or leave unattended any vehicle on any public street, alley, or City-owned off-street parking area during snow removal operations unless the snow has been removed

 

ORDINANCE 18-389

AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND THE CITY CODE, SECTION 136.03 REMOVAL OF SNOW, ICE AND ACCUMULATIONS, CITY OF WOODWARD, IOWA.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF WOODWARD

 

SECTION 1: That Chapter 136.03 REMOVAL OF SNOW, ICE AND ACCUMULATIONS is hereby amended to read as follows:

 

136.03 REMOVAL OF SNOW, ICE AND ACCUMULATIONS. It is the responsibility of the abutting property owners to remove snow, ice and accumulations promptly from sidewalks. If a property owner within the central business district does not remove snow, ice or accumulations within twenty-four (24) hours from when the snow, ice or accumulation ceases to fall on the sidewalk, the City may do so and assess the costs against the property owners for collection in the same manner as a property tax. If a property owner in any other zoning district of the City does not remove snow, ice or accumulations within forty-eight (48) hours from when the snow, ice or accumulation ceases to fall on the sidewalks, the City may do so and assess the costs against the property owners for collection in the same manner as a property tax.

SECTION 2: REPEALER. All ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

SECTION 3: SEVERABILITY CLAUSE. If any section, provision or part of this ordinance shall be adjudged invalid or unconstitutional, such adjudication shall not affect the validity of the ordinance as a whole or any section, provision or part thereof not adjudged invalid or unconstitutional.

 

SECTION 4: WHEN EFFECTIVE. This ordinance shall be in effect from and after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by law.
