The City of Woodward has nice park areas.

High Trestle Trail - The Ankeny to Woodward Trail, spans 25 miles, including the ½ mile, 13-story tall Des Moines River Valley Trail bridge with its dramatic vistas, series of overlooks, and an art immersion experience – reflective of the area’s coal mining history. Woodward's Trailhead features a historical depot refurbished and representative of the history of the area, restrooms, drinking water, and park area.

 

East and West Colton Parks are areas located at and near the Trail Head of the High Trestle Trail.

McColl's Park and Shelter House

McColl's Park is located at 200 Oak Avenue between East 2nd and East 3rd Streets.  The Shelter house is rented for fun events, rental is $50.00 plus a $50.00 deposit.  Contact City Hall for more information 515-438-2560.
